Prices checked October 21, 2026 on the public breakfast menus at 224 West Magnolia Avenue in Auburn, Alabama, and 3010 Fm 1463 Road in Katy, Texas. These are delivery-menu prices from McDonald’s official ordering storefronts, powered by DoorDash, before tax, fees and tips. This two-restaurant sample is not a national price estimate. Viewing a breakfast menu does not confirm that an order can be placed at the time you visit.

Hotcakes prices and portion differences

The least expensive row is the Hotcakes order, rather than the larger Big Breakfast platter. Hotcakes and Sausage keeps the pancake portion and adds a sausage patty. Big Breakfast with Hotcakes adds more breakfast components, so its price should not be described simply as the cost of pancakes with meat.

How many pancakes come in Hotcakes?

McDonald’s official Hotcakes description specifies three hotcakes with butter and maple-flavored hotcake syrup. The standard serving is listed at 580 calories. The quoted menu amount covers the named Hotcakes order; a coffee pairing suggested on the product page does not mean a drink is included.

The Hotcakes and Sausage product also has three hotcakes, butter and syrup, plus one sausage patty. McDonald’s lists that standard breakfast at 770 calories. Selecting this order changes the accompanying food, not the number of hotcakes. Calorie figures refer to the standard official preparations, not a customized order.

How much more does the sausage version cost?

At 224 West Magnolia Avenue in Auburn, Hotcakes were $4.39 and Hotcakes and Sausage were $5.19: an $0.80 difference. At 3010 Fm 1463 Road in Katy, the two listings were $4.99 and $5.99: a $1.00 difference. These are same-restaurant comparisons on October 21, rather than a subtraction between unrelated lowest prices.

That $0.80–$1.00 difference is the extra cost of choosing the named sausage version at these restaurants. It is not a quote for buying a sausage patty separately, and it does not establish what a customized Hotcakes order would cost. Choose the sausage listing when that is the complete combination you want to compare.

Hotcakes and Sausage versus Big Breakfast with Hotcakes

The official Big Breakfast with Hotcakes includes scrambled eggs, a biscuit, sausage, Hash Browns and hotcakes with butter and syrup. It is a larger set of foods than the Hotcakes and Sausage plate. McDonald’s lists 1,340 calories for the standard platter.

The larger platter cost $7.59 in Auburn and $7.99 in Katy. Against Hotcakes and Sausage at the same address, that was $2.40 more in Auburn and $2.00 more in Katy. If you want the eggs, biscuit and Hash Browns as well, those differences show the additional menu spend. They do not measure a saving against ordering every component individually, because we have not priced an exact matching set of all those separate components here.

For a closer look at that order, use the Big Breakfast with Hotcakes guide. Its broader historical sample can differ from the two current restaurant observations on this page. The plain Big Breakfast guide covers the platter without hotcakes.

Drinks, extras and breakfast availability

The three priced rows here are food listings. If you want coffee, check the selected drink size and price separately rather than treating the plate as a drink-inclusive combo. The McCafé menu guide covers coffee choices, while the Hash Browns guide covers the side. Extra syrup or other modifications can have their own local charges; this guide does not assume extras are free.

Viewing the breakfast menu does not prove that breakfast can be ordered throughout the day. Check your selected restaurant and ordering time before placing an order. For a handheld alternative, compare the Sausage Burrito guide; for the wider selection, return to the breakfast guide or McDonald’s menu hub.
